Canon EOS 350D (EOS Digital Rebel XT / EOS Kiss Digital N): Digital Photography Review

Have only shot 30 pictures. thay are all sharp, even with the kit lens, have beautiful color and perfectly exposed flash shots. I would have preferred to have the ISO indicator in the upper LCD data panel as with the Digital Rebel 300. this is no big deal. this is a big improvement over the previous digital Rebel, which I used for over a year. Problems: None

Very nice camera. I knew it was fairly small and light, but I was still surprised how compact it is when it came. It reacts very quickly under normal conditions, though focusing is slower in low light conditions (either when using the af assist flash strobing or just focusing on a night skyline). We’ve been using the XT for a week now on a project n Arizona shooting timelapse and panaramics to be imported into After Effects as animation elements. The camera perfromed perfectly providing us with remarkable images while the software interface between the laptop and XT was seamless. I’m very impressed by it’s provided wide-angle zoom, but purchased an additional 75-300 telephoto to provide the needed coverage of the vast Arizona vistas. Received camera yesterday, had a good play with it. In the past I have owned a Canon 300d a 10d and now the 350d. I read one of the reviews and it said the camera was sexy and they were not wrong, it is a very sexy looking camera. This one is defiantly the best for the money. I’ve had the XT about a week now and taken about 300 pics trying it out. I debated on getting the 20D but after in store testing I could not find good reason for the $800 premium. Sure the 20D has a metal case, slightly faster, and a few additional (minor for me) features, but I’ll get a lot more value with the money in additional lenses, etc.. Un superbe petit apareil, compact, léger, il remplace depuis samedi mon G2. Il est rapide, efficace, et ses différents programmes me semblent couvrir tous les besoins. La prise en main est facile et le mode d’emploi très bien fait. Bref un très bon rapport qualité prix pour un 8M pixels. Les logiciels fournis sont vraiment très bien en particulier le traitement des images raw très simple. Il es aussi possible de prendre des images avec le PC. Problems: Aucun problème à ce jour

I almost bought a Pentax *ist DS last year because of its small size, but backed off because of image quality concerns. When the Rebel XT was announced, I got so excited when I learned of its size.
